Impact

Join a community of over 200 women making a tangible difference in the Negev.

Are you a mother who wants to give back? We believe that the best support for a new mom often comes from someone who has been there. Our volunteers are the heart of this program, providing the friendship and stability new families need to thrive.

To ensure a meaningful impact, we ask our volunteers for:

  • Time: 1–2 hours per week for a home visit.
  • Duration: A commitment to support one mother for up to one year. Many mothers return to work in the first months after the birth of their infant and then the meetings may become less frequent.
  • Heart: A genuine desire to listen, guide, and support.

You don’t need a professional background in healthcare or education-your experience as a mother is your greatest asset. We provide the rest:

  • Professional Screening: To ensure a great match for both you and the new mother.
  • Comprehensive Training: All volunteers complete a specialized course in postpartum care and maternal well-being.
  • Ongoing Supervision: You’ll be part of a small group that receives regular guidance and support from the professional BGU staff.

By joining "Mom to Mom," you are doing more than just visiting a home; you are preventing postpartum depression, reducing social isolation, and building a stronger community in the Negev.
