About

I am a sociologist whose research examines the intersections of family, gender, ethnicity, and structural inequality in contexts of rapid social transformation. My work focuses on Palestinian Arab society in Israel, a setting marked by deep-seated gender norms and ethnic marginalization that simultaneously constrain and reshape women?s lives. Through an intersectional and mixed-methods approach, I explore how family structures, education, and labor-market participation interact with cultural expectations and structural marginalities to shape women?s social and economic positioning. My research bridges micro-level analyses of family and gender relations with broader questions of social change, inequality, and agency in an ethnically stratified context.
