FAQ's
Do I need entrepreneurial experience to apply to Negev Prime?
Not at all. Like most all Yazamut 360° programs, Negev Prime is designed for participants from every background and at all levels of experience, from those just starting their entrepreneurial journey to those already on their way to launching an e-company.
Do I need to have a product I want to sell on Amazon?
Nope: As part of the program, you’ll work with other students and program mentors to find a product you want to sell. On the other hand, if you have a burning passion—from fashion to technology to sports and handmade crafts—e-commerce is a great way to turn it into a thriving business.
Will I need to invest a lot up front to get my business going?
A lot of time and energy? Definitely yes. A lot of money? Not necessarily, no. In fact, one of the great things about starting an e-commerce business is that you don’t need a lot of capital up front to get things off the ground. That said, factors such as the size of your product’s market, the cost of production, and payments to vendors and regulatory bodies will add up to an amount you should be prepared to pay.
If I’m a BGU student, will I have enough time for Negev Prime and for my studies, too?
It’s true that participation in Negev Prime is a serious commitment of time and energy. Fortunately, most students feel that what they get out of the program—knowledge, skills, and ideally an Amazon business—is worth all the hard work and even the pressure during crunch periods. Nonetheless, in order to ensure that students make academic studies their top priority, Negev Prime does not overlap with the exams period between semesters.
Do I need to know English to join the program?
The language of program lectures, practical assignments, and workshops is Hebrew, but the contents of all course materials are in English—and much of your e-business work will be, too.
Is Negev Prime free for accepted students?
The program isn’t free, but thanks to the generosity of our partners, we’re able to offer it at low cost: 700 NIS for students, and 1,250 NIS for Negev residents.
