The effect of technology, organization, and environment related factors on the intention of firms to use remote application hosting

In light of the failure of the first wave of remote application hosting, or application service provision (ASPs), this study aims at developing and empirically testing the ASP Intention Model (AIM). The model, based on institutional theories, reflects factors affecting ASP adoption. To empirically test AIM, we surveyed decision makers in organizations, and found perceived business benefits of ASP, perceived ease of ASP implementation, and institution-based trust as significantly affect the intention to use remote application hosting.
