Research

My main field of research is developing algorithms for problems arising in all areas of computer networks. I am interested in both providing theoretical guarantees as to their performance (in terms of approximation/competitive ratio), as well as their evaluation in real-life scenarios. In particular, I am interested in problems of resource allocation, resource management, and scheduling, motivated by problems in cloud computing, data centers, 5G networks, router architectures, caching, and more.

I am also interested in general concepts of algorithm design and theory, including issues in combinatorial optimization, scheduling, and algorithmic game theory.

More recently, I am also working on cyber security, with an emphasis on microarchitectural attacks, virtualized environments, as well as related service placement and co-location.

A note for prospective graduate students and postdocs

If you are interested in pursuing graduate studies (M.Sc./Ph.D. program) in theoretical aspects of computer networks, or cloud security, feel free to drop me a line and schedule a meeting where we could discuss things further.

It is recommended you check out my recent publications beforehand to see if any of my current research topics are of specific interest.
