Lipid/PDA films

The lipid/PDA assemblies can be assembled in two-dimensional films, using spin coating or Langmuir-Blodgett techniques. We are studying the chromatic properties of the films and their relationship with the organization of the molecular components. Furthermore, we have found that the lipid/PDA films can be utilized for studying membrane interactions of varied amphiphilic molecules, bacterial detection, and other biosening applications. The figure on the right shows high sensitivity detection of bacteria.
