About Recanati School for Health Professions
Message from the School Director, Prof. Yigal Flecht
Welcome!
The Leon and Matilda Recanati School for Community Health Professions was established in 1978 to train professionals in the field of community healthcare. The school consists of four departments: Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and Emergency Medicine. Currently, approximately 1,000 students are enrolled in undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs.
Our school is committed to fostering a compassionate and patient-centered approach to healthcare. Teaching is integrative and multidisciplinary, aimed at promoting the health of both individuals and the community. Learning is based on developing high-level skills through an evidence-based practice approach, led by faculty members who optimally combine teaching, research, and service. The school also houses several research units that bridge fundamental sciences with clinical research.
Students gain clinical experience early in their studies, working in a dynamic environment alongside clinical instructors, researchers, and diverse healthcare professionals—all dedicated to addressing healthcare needs in Israel, particularly in the Negev region.
Our graduates are highly valued and sought after not only for their professional training and expertise but also for the unique human sensitivity instilled in them—an essential added value for a dedicated healthcare provider.
With our school’s strong reputation for excellence, we look toward the future with confidence and optimism. I invite you to shape your professional future with us!
Prof. Yigal Flecht, Director of the School
