Improving Obesity and Diabetes Care
The Negev Research Hub for Improving Obesity and Diabetes Care is an interdisciplinary collaborative research initiative bringing together academic researchers, hospital- and community-based physicians and health practitioners in order to improve obesity and diabetes prevention and care.
Goals:
- Establish a functional network of primary- and hospital-based clinicians, health practitioners and basic researchers as a basis for multidisciplinary research and care of obese and diabetic patients in the Negev
- Create research infrastructure: community-based and hospital-based clinical cohorts, and an adipose tissue biobank.
- Conceptualize and realize novel research aimed at promoting academic medicine in the field of diabetes, obesity and related comorbidities.
