About the Program

The innovative, multidisciplinary program in Desert Studies is structured to provide an integrated approach, offering students exceptional opportunities to pursue a combination of basic and applied research. Students are exposed to a wide range of disciplines complementary to their track of study.

Requirements for Application

The registration conditions are correct at this time and are subject to change depending on supply and demand. To secure your place in the program you wish to be admitted to at an early stage, we recommend that you register early.

For most specializations in Desert Studies, applicants should hold a B.Sc. degree in either science or engineering from an accredited institution. For the Environmental Studies specialization, applicants should hold a B.Sc., a B.A., or a B.Arch. degree from an accredited institution.
A TOEFL score of at least 85/120 or equivalent in an internationally recognized English proficiency exam is required. The English proficiency requirement is waived for applicants who received their Bachelor's degree in a program taught in English.
The candidate must secure an advisor from the faculty's staff. Please visit the BGU Research Portal to identify and contact potential advisors in fields relevant to your research interests. We recommend including your CV and transcripts (with an explanation of your university’s grading system and GPA) when introducing yourself.

A copy of the applicant's undergraduate diploma

A Copy of the applicant's TOEFL/IETLS score
A copy of the applicant's GRE subject score
Two Letters of recommendation from faculty members who are familiar with the applicant's academic work and skills. These should be sent by the recommender directly to rishum@bgu.ac.il
A copy of the first page of your passport
A copy of your CV
