Research Interests:

Research interests are centered on fundamental theoretical and numerical research in turbulence and fluid mechanics. A main current thrust is anisotropic turbulence in stratified and rotating flows. Particular aspects include:

• Large-scale atmospheric and oceanic circulation
• Anisotropic turbulence, jets and Rossby waves in planetary atmosphere

• Advanced transport modeling of turbulent flows with stable stratification (funding: Israeli Science Foundation).
• Improved Parameterization of Stably Stratified Boundary Layer Turbulence in Atmospheric Models (funding: US Army Research Office).
•   Comparative Analysis and Rational of Second-Moment Turbulent Models ( CARTUM). Concerted Action of the European Communities, Directorate General for Science, Research and Development, MAST 3.
• Turbulent Transport in Complex Flows Subject to External Forces (funding: The Ministry of Science and Technology, Israel).
