A return map extracted from McKean model in the excitable mode. Increasing the length T of the stimulation period raises the map uniformly. The map clearly consists of two distinct parts. The rotation number r is calculated by tracing an orbit on the map, and deviding the number of visits it has on the right part of the map by the total number of points in this orbit. A large part of our work is done on piecewise linear maps like the one in the picture below, for which r = 3/5
