Getting from Ben-Gurion Airport to Beer Sheva

By train: please visit Israel Railways schedules and fares page. There are no direct trains between Ben-Gurion Airport and Beer-Sheva, so you must transfer at any one of the 4 Tel Aviv stations (transfers are usually not timed, but waiting should not take more than one hour). Beer Sheva North is a 10 minute walk from campus, and Beer Sheva Center is a 5 minute taxi ride from the Golden Tulip Hotel (most taxis use a flat rate of 18-22 NIS for rides within Beer Sheva).

Taxi information is available here. The fare to Beer Sheva is approximately 435 NIS or $125 during the day and 515 NIS or $150 during the night (most drivers accept U.S. currency). The ride takes about 75 minutes.

Car rental is available at Ben-Gurion Airport.

The workshop will be held in the Senate Hall (bldg. 71a), room -136.

The Department of Foreign Literatures & Linguistics is located in Diller Building (bldg. 74), 5th floor, room 510.

Eating on campus:

Aroma Espresso Bar: located on the first floor of Diller building (bldg. 74). Cafe/restaurant; coffee, sandwiches and salads (NIS 25-40).
Student and faculty cafeterias: located in the Student Center (bldg. 70). Meat and dairy.
Lemon Grass: located in building 32. Chinese/Thai fast food (around NIS 25-30).
The "Karnaf" (Rhinoceros): located in building 28. Multi-purpose student diner; coffee, yoghurt fruit-cups/cold watermelon, soup (8 NIS), sandwiches and salads (NIS 20).
There are coffee stands in many of the buildings, offering pastries and sandwiches.
There are also several inexpensive restaurants right outside the northernmost end of the university, immediately to the left of the small gate northwest of building 90.
