Milette Shamir

Milette Shamir is a Senior Lecturer at Tel Aviv University and Chair of the Department of English and American Studies. She is the author of Inexpressible Privacy: The Interior Life of Antebellum American Literature (Penn UP, 2005) and the co-editor of Boys Don't Cry?: Rethinking Narratives of Masculinity and Emotion in the US (Columbia UP, 2003). Her current work explores American representations of the Middle East during the progressive era.
