Jonathan Rose

Jonathan Rose is William R. Kenan Professor of History at Drew University. He was the founding president of the Society for the History of Authorship, Reading and Publishing, and he is coeditor of the journal Book History. His books include The Intellectual Life of the British Working Classes, The Holocaust and the Book: Destruction and Preservation, and most recently A Companion to the History of the Book, which he coedited with Simon Eliot. He is currently writing a study of Winston Churchill's literary career, from which today's paper is drawn.
