Research topics:  

Collision theory, quantum mechanical scattering, light scattering, nonlinear optics, laser physics and chemistry, atomic and molecular physics and chemistry, dissociation of molecules, charge exchange processes, electron transport phenomena in condensed phases, Bose-Einstein condensation, optimal control theory, thermodynamics

Specific research topics studied in the past include:
Photodissociation of molecules, transport of electrons in small electronic devices, ultra-cold collision phenomena in laser-cooled atom traps, Bose-Einstein condensation, coherent matter waves, thermodynamics of processes occuring in finite time with finite rates, the relationship of absorption and emission in multilevel systems, application of the birefringence of solid-state laser media to laser line narrowing, population transfer in molecules with stimulated Raman scattering, nonlinear optical properties of molecules, pulse compression and mode-locking of lasers via processes involving nonlinear absorption of light, the spectrum of second harmonic generation, three wave mixing for multimode fields, intracavity and extracavity second harmonic generation,  intracavity and extracavity Raman processes, pulse compression in fiber Raman lasers, self-focusing and optical solitons.
