Models for transforming educational theory into design guidelinesWe are interested in developing models for transforming educational theory into design-principles for ICT environments and tools. Such models would bridge the gap between theory and practice that is somehow characteristic of the eLearning industry in particular and ICT-related culture in general. We make a complementary effort to define models for "practice-based" design of ICT environments and tools, that would make optimal use of users' engagement in ICT-related practices (independently of educational intervention), and mobilize the "natural resource" consisted in actual practice into desired educational channels. What underlies this effort is the understanding that the driving engine of "progress" in the digital era has been the practical adoption of technology by individuals and societies and its de-facto integration into everyday culture. We have taken the case of AOE theory, to which we have defined such implementation model as a pioneering test case of transforming Humanist thinking to a set of design guidelines for eLearning platforms and tools.
