Abstract of Current Research:

Theory  of the exchange interaction in molecular clusters of transition and rare-earth ions and molecule-based magnets. Evaluation of the spin states in large clusters using the technique of the irreducible tensor operators and modern concepts of group theory. Problem of orbital degeneracy of the magnetic ions in the theory of the exchange interactions in molecular and solid state systems. Development of the new kinds of the effective Hamiltonians taking into account unquenched orbital angular momenta. Exchange systems with anomalous magnetic anisotropy  with regard to the problem of single molecular magnets ( nano-magnets). Mixed valency in many-electron molecular clusters, high-nuclearity clusters  and 1D systems, vibronic Jahn-Teller interactions and magnetic properties. Manifestation of the Jahn-Teller effect in the vibronically assisted optical bands, zero-phonon lines and non-radiative transitions in the impurity ions in insulators and semiconductors. Photochromic effect in transition metal  complexes.
