CIRCULATION
The circulation desk is located to the right of the Aranne Library lobby. Books can be checked out at this desk using your student card or university ID card. Self-service stations located throughout the library enable the reader to borrow books without waiting in line at the circulation desk. The office of the librarian-in-charge of circulation is located in room 204 next to circulation desk. Circulation problems and questions can be addressed to her.
The circulation desk is open regular library hours; the circulation office is open Sunday through Thursday, 8:30-15:00.

Cards:
Students: The student card issued
by the Students' Association also serves as a library card.
Faculty and Staff: The employee
ID card doubles as a library card. At the beginning of each academic year, you need to
renew your borrowing privileges.
The Online “Library Card” in the Aleph Catalog:
The online “library card” can be used to:
Renew materials that have been borrowed; Check the due dates of borrowed materials; Check the status of “holds”; Review a list of materials that were borrowed in the past; Review charges or fines owed to the library.
To Open the Online “Library Card”:
1) Click on the rotating letter Aleph on the library homepage
2) Select “Aranne Library”.
The online “library card” is located in the upper right hand section of the screen.
Personal Identification Number for the online “library card”:
Students need to enter their ID card number and, as password, the PIN code which appears on the university tuition payment slip.
Faculty and staff need to enter their ID card number as “ID number” and as “password”.
Loan Period:
Material is checked out for three days, one week, two weeks, etc. depending on the item status. The loan period appears in the Aleph catalog on the “Locations & Copies” screen.
Items can be renewed if a "hold" has not been placed by another reader.
The library provides two ways to renew the books you have borrowed.
Automatic Renewal: The library's automatic renewal system renews
books
within two days of their due dates. Books with later due dates are not renewed.
ALEPH Catalog: Books can be renewed via the online “library card” – “Loans/Renewals”.
A book on which a "hold" has been placed cannot be renewed.
Fines:
A fine is levied for late return, in accordance with the item’s status. Please try to avoid fines by extending the due date on time.
The fines per day for each item returned late are:
A three-day book: 8 NIS
A three-day book on which a “hold” has been placed:
12 NIS
A one-week or two-week book: 4 NIS
A one-week or two-week book on which a “hold” has been placed: 8 NIS.
Request
for Books on Loan (Holds):
Books already on loan may be requested by the reader via the ALEPH catalog. To check if a requested book has been returned, use the online “library card” in the Aleph catalog.
Reserved
Book Collection:
The reserved book collection is located at the circulation desk. It consists of books that are required reading for courses, transferred to the collection at the instructor's request, and high-demand titles, transferred on the judgment of the librarians. "Reserved books" cannot be checked out; they are for use in the library for a limited time only.
